well, it will be in three days. (Yes, I was here for "lostcherry" and "cherrytap". Etc.) Something in me feels obligated to set down something about spending four years on a website (I don't know why, I've been on LiveJournal for about nine years - though even more irregularly so - even here I've taken long breaks...) but if I have any deep thoughts - thoughts that want to pretend they are - I can wait three days to collect them...

Ah here we are, July 11. I miss some features that have been gone for awhile now (like being able to email people - e.g.: I'm fubar.com/eschiss1 ; so if you sent an email (email, not fubar message) to eschiss1 at fubar.com, after first going through a spam filter , I would receive it next time I logged in, and I'd be able to respond... liked that :) but I've gotten used to the changes (every one of which has been the source of infinite complaint, and threats to cancel VIP - etc. - etc. - etc.) - and only sort of remember what Lostcherry looked like, back in 2006.
It was marginally friendlier, but it was still kinetic, distracting, a race for the top (though only 25 ranks, not 55; and until 2007 or sometime in there, rating was anonymous, which only slowly changed a bit at a time. The whole auto-11 bling thing is relatively new, too.
But anyway...
Eric losing focus and doing a laundry one these days :)

are fine, and this isn't "Policy" or a "rule" or anything, but I guess I'd prefer if they responded to the actual "status" they were a comment on. Especially inasmuch as they give neither you nor me any points, or anything like that - or is that why status comments are preferred? Out of asceticism? (Not to be confused with aesthetics.)
Miss Jen ("Huggable Lovable Kissable Jen") died? Didn't know her except for brief exchanges of happy words, but thought well of her. Wasn't aware that she'd died, though?!?...
Was on vacation for a few days. Now I'm back, and my computer thinks it's on vacation, but needs fixing, truth to tell. So be it. As things are, this computer hangs when I'm on too long, now. Yep, needs fixing.
My prolonged (that is, several-day) absence has cost me several fubar-friends. Hope it's no one I knew. ;)
