| I live in South Carolina and have a friend who has two children that are 5 and 8 and there dad has been in jail since the youngest one was 6 mnths old and will be in jail for the next 40 years. She has went through everything to try and get help for assistance for these children, but the state says all they can do is provide her medicaid and food stamps and day care for them, but no child support of any kind. She was only eligible for afdc for 24 months by the laws of the state. So the children have to suffer because dad is in jail and no one provides any help. Is that legally right or not? |
