Selective Salutes

I guess most folks would consider this a stupid rant and perhaps I might too if it had not happened to me. Someone mentioned that we had to submit a salute to get past level 10, and I said noo way, it doesn't say that anywhere.. well guess what they were right.. I am at level 11 totals yet my indicator says cherry level 10...why because I don't have a salute, even funnier, I signed up to become a paying member, which means I have to put my personal information out there to pay for this account. I have enough pictures that identify who I am. It's obvious that the salutes aren't approved by the guidelines, it says Either 1. A frank picture of yourself with a sign of your name in front of your homepage, or with a site T-Shirt one. Well let me tell you I have seen many salutes that don't adhere to either requirement yet because its a pretty smile or some cleavage it has been approved, and btw good for you folks that got it approved. We simple folk are having the pleasure of getting denied if it isn't absolutely PERFECT. Now I don't mind doing it when I have a chance, but why should I be forced too when it doesn't state it as a requirement here? What do you all think? It's a matter of principal here, if it says as required membership you MUST submit a salute, then I would know right up front what is expected. It's not identified clearly... Just My Monday Rant, Happy New Year and smiles.. time to get back to work XOXO Rocker Mom

Season of Giving

Okay I can see I am going to be blogging more often here than on My myspace... Over the years I have seen holidays come & go, When My children were younger and my spouse was in the military, we became accustomed to cruises for over 6 months, and over time one learns what to appreciate and what to just gloss over... 2 years ago thanksgiving I had backsurgery to fix a ruptured disk that has basically reduced me 18 months before hand to a person who lived her life waiting on the next painpill, after the surgery I got my life back, and again last thanksgiving, once again, I wound up in the hospital, long story short, after 3 pints of blood, very caring medical staff, some kewl doctors and alot of spirits I survived and have recovered. My children, now 22 and 25 have been asking me what I want....but now I am at the point that I have no real material needs other than getting the bills paid..LOL Every year, since the children have been small we always made sure to give back, by supporting the food bank, giving to a childrens home, inviting folks without families to our home and etc..you get the idea. Its a holiday ritual. It warms my heart when I see my daughter age 25, get excited because she is printing her angel gift to put under the tree for some child that won't be having a christmas,....I usually do the food thing. Years ago when life was simple and technology wasn't so complicated, folks appreciated the simple life, like food on the table, friends being close, family and warmth, its wasn't the tangible gifts, it was the gifts of the heart, the giving of self in the season. So while everyone is out there looking for the expense gift for a family member or friend, take a look around you. Do you notice that needy family that could use the $50.00 for a weeks worth of food, than the friend that already has enough clothes to cram into the closet? How about that child next door, that always has a longing look when your children have their new clothes on, the Mom that is stressed because there just isn't enough time... Do you see them all? A coupon of services is always a great idea especially when the pennies are tight. The Holiday season has become way too commerical, lets get back to the basics, bake something, make something from the heart, and take the $$$ you saved and make someone else's holiday... Easier said than done? Not really, ...Children are the purest form,,,they see things that Adults have grown to ignore....they are our inheritance...let's change the world, one person at a time, one gift at a time, I see this generation becoming more caring of their fellow man, teens today and young adults, yeah they got those piercings and tatoo's but yet, they care more of what really is important, their friends, someone down on their luck... Time to open your eyes to the humanity of the season and not the $$$ of the season... Happy Holidays and God Bless.... Smiles

Chatting these days

I remember years ago when I first rediscovered the computer and the age of chat, early 90's, and I realize I had needs at that time of my life and finding friends online and chatting and what night..wow... Now I sit just scrolling through Cherry tap, meeting some nice folks, trying to figure out how to work the 150 darn dials..LOL And some young 'thang' decides to come along and by his standards...pays Me a backhanded compliment.... yet...ignorantly...I ask what is MILF....and then he proceeds to continue...to tell Me..gasp..duh..I should have known better..
so here is My comment to young "thang" the next time you decide to pay an older gal, with greying hair a compliment, trying after the first time, seeings you have already stepped on your tongue, to be gracious enough to take the hint that your crude pick up line, that works for all the ladies in the bar, just ain't gonna get it... learn to READ BETWEEN the LINES? hmmm? Never know what the grey hair Lady might be into...perhaps whipping little boys like you into shape with Her flogger and making sure you learn to behave!... My thats a visual huh?... Chuckling.. Ya all have a great day...appreciate letting Me vent a moment.
