What are you waiting for?

Trying

No matter what I do it seems I comeup short, yes theres times I succed, but not often enough, Its either due toI dont listen to someoneor I just do something I know I cant do own my own. I dont fail anyone but myself

Time to time I like to write and share my thoughts on life and here's one of them......In this world we live in we all have role models,no matter if its a family member,a actor/actress, sports star or whoever it maybe Often times kids role models are sports stars. For me it was Roger Staubach(to which I had a hand written letter from him since I could not go with grandpa to meet him) and Nolan Ryan. It seems that the times have changed but after coming across some youtube videos on particular NFL star has really caught me attention.
In 1 video was a story of 3 kids that along with their parents was involved in a car crash, the girl had a lot of bones broken, her 2 brothers sustained injuries the resulted in both paralyzed, Sad part is both parents lost their lives This player heard of what happened and became like a big brother to the 3 kids and have spent a lot of time with them including bringing them to practices and games.Another video showed him surprising a young boy who is bullied at school, giving him encouragement and helping him by getting him involved into sports at the YMCA with other youth The 3rd video I seen he befriended a young man who has issues and the kids at his school didnt believe him so he posted a video with the young man to show the doubters The last video was from the Mavs vs Rockets playoff game from this past season he ran out to the court to give a pat on the back n hugg after he sang the National Anthem. Now before I say who the player, you might be thinking oh, he prob has it his contract or whatever, but I fill this player has shown off the field hes being a true role model as well as becoming one of the greats on the field. Now with that said..............JJ Watt you not only gained a new fan in me, but you have proven to be a true model despite that you are one of the most intense players in NFL,

How soon we forget

In today's society we look at most pro atheletes as over paid people who are working doing what they love to do. Sure blame the leagues and the owners for allowing this to happen. I remember one time Nolan Ryan who was the 1st million dollar player in MLB history said once "I refuse to charge fans for my autograph. If it hadnt been for them, we wouldnt be doing what we do"

As we look at the athletes making millions and millions of dollars we over look one thing, alot of the teams and players do things for the fans as well as colleges. Yes its publicity for them but the same time it makes the people they do things for appreciated. Look at some examples

1.A team or school makes it possible for a returning soldier to suprise family at a game to reuniite them(after all these men and women do protect our country to where we can do things.)

  2. A team, school or a player takes time out of their sched. to spend time with someone with a disability or a illness to show support and appreciation.

In closing maybe we are displeased with how much the players, teams and schools make but after all it proves thatnot all arent all that bad.
