GRNBAY GAL's blog: "4th of July, and your rights"

It has occured to me that more than ever, it is time to review our Rights in this country. 

With the 4th right around the corner, we americans  take our liberties with a grain of salt. We tend to believe  the old statement  Oh That Will Never Happen Here. I say to you, look around yourself,your neighborhoods, your state and this great country.

What I see happening is a decline in this country..Children can't be disciplined by their parents,and if they are , they want to call the police and turn them in. Teachers cant teach our future generations  without the threats and intimindation by the very ones they are trying to teach. While I do not condone abuse on any level, I do believe that  disipline  teaches us right from wrong, and it starts at a young age.

I believe that every americian has the right to own firearms. With that right also comes a great responsibility. I was fortunate to have a father who taught all of us how to use weapons correctly, how to shoot them,clean them, hunt with them. I was also taught you NEVER point a weapon at a person unless you fully plan on pulling the trigger.That every action taken with a weapon has a consequence.

I believe that we all have the right to LIFE LIBERTY and the PURSUIT of HAPPINESS.  I do not believe that any one has the right to take those away, No matter how well meaning that person may be.

I believe we have the obligation to treat our elders with dignity and respect. No ifs ands or buts about it.

I believe that our military veterans deserve to be treated with the utmost respect.With out all of our vets where the hell would we be???Think about that one for awhile.

I believe that Freedom of speech is of  utmost importance, we may not agree with each other on every issue, but respecting my right or yours to voice an opinion is vital in this country.

And I believe that this country and OUR FLAG are the best in the world.
