A woman in much distress knelt down to pray,
"Lord I do't know what to say,
I love my husband and don't know why,
he has to hit me and make me cry,
I can't tell my mom and I can't tell my dad,
You know how it would make them upset and mad,
Why does he hit me Lord, I don't understand?
Why on earth, Do I love this man?
When he hits me Lord, it makes me sad,
But Lord that's not as bad,
As the lie I have to tell my precious son,
Who's too young yet to realize, that it is one,
He looks at me, with such innocent eyes,
I hope he never knows, that its a lie,
Lord, Give me the strength, to make it through,
And help me know what i should do,
The bible says we shouldn't divorce,
and I should stand by him , for better or worse,
Lord, in your hands I place my life,
Please help me Lord, to be a better wife,
And never give him a reason why,
To hit me again and make me lie,
I don't want my son to grow up like him,
But this is a fight, I just can't win,
Lord, I will continue to pray everyday,
For the only hope I have is when i pray,
Amen" She said as she wiped away a tear,
When she stood up the Lord noticed her fear,
"My child" He said as he took her hand,
"I would never sentence you to live with this man,
I would never ask you to suffer in silence,
Or live each day with the fear of violence,
So get your child and get away,
Go find a safe place to stay,
Hurry, my child, please don't wait,
I would never ask you to live in such hate,
The next time he hits you, you may not lie,
for the next time he hits you, you may just die"
The woman looked at the Lord with startled eyes,
And then she began to realize,
"Thank You Lord for your loving grace,
I will go find that safe place,
I never thought you would understand,
If i tried to leave that stranger I call my husband,
The Lord held her in his arms ans said with tender care,
"For you my child, I will always be here"........
