My husband and I moved in with an old friend of his from junior high. He told us we could use his attick and basement to store all our belongings. We moved in with everything we owned. After living there a couple months we find out this guy is a heroin addict and a drug dealer and he wont accept any rent money from us unless it is CASH. We got into a BIG fight and my husband and I ended up leaving. This guy said he would sell everything we own to get his rent money. After going to court several times, this guy is keeping everything we own. We have a video of him and his girlfriend breaking into our locked bedroom, so they are being charged with that. Every time I got a court order and went to his house to get my stuff from the attick, basement and apartment, he refused to open the door. He robbed us of everything we own and there is nothing I can do about it. Basically, I could invite some into my apartment, tell them they can bring all thier stuff, throw them out and when they come back with cops say, "They took all thier stuff when they left" and get away with it.
