Domo's Take: I wasn't crazy about them taking Smith as early as they did, but they did a very good job with the rest of their draft, picking up value and addressing needs. Aside from Matthews, who probably will open the season as the team's slot receiver, I'm not sure how much playing time this class is going to get early on. But they've added several other guys, including Watkins, Reynolds and Hart, who potentially could be starters within 2 years. Their best pick could end up being the fifth rounder they gave the Saints in the Darren Sproles deal.
Domo's Take: The good news is the Cowboys had nine picks. The bad news is five of them were in the seventh round. After fighting off the urge to take Johnny Football, Jerry Jones spent his first round pick well on Martin, who can play all five offensive line positions, and will be one of their starting guards in September. Lawrence was one of the better edge rushers in the draft, though he's going to have to get bigger and stronger to be an every down end in Dallas' 4 3. Most of the rest of their picks are a crap shoot.

They bolstered their offensive line in the third round with the selections of Moses and Spencer. Spencer should be a Day 1 starter. Breeland was great value in Round 4 and will immediately improve the Redskins' sub packages and eventually replace 30 year old DeAngelo Hall.

Carey should be a capable backup to Matt Forte.

In theory, a team with a power rating of 95 is six points better than a team with a power rating of 89, although factors such as injuries, home field advantage and scheduling have to be taken into consideration when determining the numerical difference between two teams.
For yeas, the Gold Sheet was the standard when it came to power ratings and their numbers played a large part in the making of the line on a weekly basis. Their numbers are still some of the better ones that you'll find.

An unsigned NFL free agent, Wallace is playing the waiting game. He's waiting for someone to need a quarterback.
"You never know when it can happen," he said of another NFL opportunity. "I'm staying in shape. I told myself that I'll give it this season, then one more off season and if nothing happens by then, it's probably time to go on to the next chapter of my life."
That will include working for the foundation he established in honor of his mother, who died in 2007 of cancer. It will include building group Wholesale Jerseys homes for low income children.

"It depends on a lot of things," said Wallace, who will run a football camp Saturday in Ankeny.

Wallace didn't burn bridges in Ames. He still gets back to campus as often as his schedule allows. He's a graduate. He met his wife, the former Abbie Larson of Gowrie, while attending Iowa State.

"The good thing is that I'm not in a hurry," he said. "Coaching football, though, is something that I definitely would consider if it's the right situation."
