No More Litter Box

Please keep in mind that since this is for "real" and not some gimmick , that we cannot guarantee it will work. We know that it will work with most cats and it has a 85% success rate. For obvious reasons , kittens seem to have the best chance at learning, provided they are big enough to reach the seat. Males seem to do better than females. The whole process will take about a month or so. Some cats learn sooner than others. Leave the lid in the "UP" position. Leave the seat in the "DOWN" position. One other thing....... wait until the "Kitten" has grown enough to reach the toilet, unless you want to have to pick them up and place them into it in the beginning. Lets get started. First and foremost, choose a toilet that will be used the LEAST by a person. We used the toilet in the utility room. That is where the picture you saw was taken. Secondly, turn the water OFF on the toilet for now, and place a "Balled" up rag or such into the drain of the toilet. You do NOT want to get any litter into the drain here !!!!! Purchase or use the type of plastic bowls you see where they fit inside each other. Normally there are three. Try to get plastic. I am sure you know the ones I mean. Most people use these for salads. Remove the inner two bowls and place the largest one down into the toilet. It should rise up inside the toilet to about three inches BELOW the toilet seat. Thirdly, place your litter in the bowl. This will become the cats "Litter box" for the next month. Now, here is where you have to use good judgement. As time goes on and it appears as though your cat is using this " litter box " without a whole lot of complaints, EXCHANGE the larger bowl for the next SMALLER ( medium) bowl. It is important that the second bowl is not to LOW in the toilet. At this point, the cat is still going to want to scratch and bury when they are finished. So.....they must be able to reach the litter down inside the bowl. Fourth, Along about three weeks into this you are going to place the smallest bowl into the toilet. Watch closely if you can, ( cats are very shy when it comes to this.) Ours did not want us watching them at all. I do not know why but we think it has to do with the fact that they realize it is not their normal litter box and they feel they are going to the bathroom in a place they should not be going in. One other thing. It is possible that you will not need to use the medium or smallest bowls. Some people tell us that their cat is ready after the first large bowl has been removed. Again.......each cat is different and we all know how cats are.....Very mysterious !! Lastly, about a month into this trainning now you will be removing the last and final bowl. Hopefully, your cat will now be "Pottie Trained" He should be now use to going to the bathroom without having to "scratch and bury." Remove the bowls , remove the balled up rag in the drain, and turn on the water to the toilet. Sit back and watch your cat use the toilet instead of the litter box. It is important to give your cat a little treat when they do use the toilet.
