DOING PRETTY GOOD IN SCHOOL SO FAR. JUST SUBMITTED MY FIRST BIG POWER POINT PROJECT TODAY. I HAVE A BIG EXAM THIS WEEKEND, AND ANOTHER ONE NEXT WEEK. SO FAR I HAVE 100% IN 2 CLASSES, AN 88% IN ONE, AND 89% IN THE LAST ONE. BUT THAT IS ONLY AFTER 6 WEEKS OF CLASS. STILL A WHILE TO GO YET. I GOT TO ADMIT I HATE ACCOUNTING. IT IS NOT LOGICAL. HOW IN THE HELL CAN A CREDIT EVER BE A NEGATIVE, AND A DEBIT A POSITIVE. SO STUPID. THE CLASS THAT I THOUGHT WAS GOING TO BE MY FAVORITE "HISTORY" HAS THE WORSE POSSIBLE TEXT BOOK EVER. THE INFO IS PRETTY GOOD. BUT IT IS SO POORLY WRITTEN AND EDITED. I DON'T KNOW HOW IT EVER GOT PUBLISHED. THE WRITERS SHOULD BE ASHAMED, BUT THEN HOW MANY BOOKS ARE OUT THERE ABOUT "THE HISTORY OF FUNERAL SERVICES" ?? THE INSTRUCTOR HAS GOTTEN SO MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE BOOK, SHE IS WRITING OUT WEEKLY NOTES FOR US. BUT SHE IS KOOL, AS ARE ALL MY INSTRUCTORS. I EVEN HAVE THE DEAN OF MORTUARY SCIENCE AS MY INSTRUCTOR IN ACCOUNTING. HATE THE SUBJECT, BUT HE IS PRETTY FUNNY ABOUT IT. AND OUR HISTORY INSTRUCTOR HAS EVEN GIVEN US AN EXTRA CREDIT ASSIGNMENT. ON OCTOBER 30th WE ARE TO WATCH "UNDERTAKERS" ON PBS. WE HAVE TO WRITE A 1 PARAGRAPH REPORT ON IT. (SHE SAYS SHE HAS TO HAVE PROOF THAT WE WATCHED IT). I WOULD WATCH IT EVEN IF I DIDN'T GET CREDIT FOR IT. YOU MIGHT WANT TO WATCH IT TOO. WELL THIS SEMESTER ENDS PRETTY SOON. IT IS ALL OVER DECEMBER 3rd. SO THAT GIVES ME A LITTLE OVER 7 MORE WEEKS. TALK ABOUT FAST. WELL THAT IS MY UPDATE.

well had my first day of classes yesterday. Got a few assignments done. Mostly still trying to get things organized, I need to create one big calendar that combines all four classes in one to keep it organized. It turns out that class that I thought I would like the most, and would be the easiest will be the one that requires the most work. I even have to do a power point presentation. I don't even have powerpoint, just the viewer. Maybe I can get just the trial version to get the assignment done. I would hate to spend $150.00 just to do one program. And I have never even done a power point before. So I will have to figure that out too. but before I do even that I have to pick a subject for that and I have to pick a subject for my research paper. It suxs having been out of school for like 30 years. Thank god for computers and the internet. but then again I think I really like this online course study. attend classes online when i want, but using the bulletin boards for class discussions I know that the instructor will know that I put in my 2 cents, instead of having to depend on them remembering me in class. also have more resourses. and taking notes is a breeze...lol All in all I think this will be a good semester once I get it organized. That will be the key, organization and keeping to the plan.

It has been over 30 years since High school, and more than 20 years since I had any formal training in the Marine. Well I am all signed up. I will be going to Amarillo College online to get my Certificate in funeral directing. I will be starting out with 11 semester hours this semester, classes in Mortuary History, contempary funeral Services, Funeral Home management, and Funeral Home operations clinical. It should be a lot of fun, and interesting. Not sure how it will go, taking classes like this online is totally new to me. But a lot cheaper than attending school in person. and dang the books were expensive. about 1/3 of my tution. Well wish me luck. My classes will end December 14th, then I will start the next semester. With a little luck I can finish as early as Sept 2008, or as late as June 2009. We will see.
