Ah, the questions that I get ask on here and in life in general. I haven't posted in a while and decided to break this down for some of my friends and such.
DISCLAMIER: I am not trying to hurt anyone with my personal opinion, so don't take anything that I am about to say as a personal attack.
To answer long story short, I don't date because I am not interested in either sex at this time, although I am bi.
Long Story.... I have been in the dating scene since before Netflix and Chill became an everyday term in the Urban Dictionary. I have found that want I am looking for, is something that does not exist. I want to find someone that is my equal and does not treat me like I am a piece of property. That means that I don't want to be an object. About 98% of the men on this site alone, hit with the
"Hey sexy"
"You are so sexy baby"
Followed by the usual:
"Can I get to know you?"
How about no my guy....See, in my opinion dating doesn't exist anymore. All people want is a friend with benifits, people want all of the benefits of being in a relationship without commiting to one person because you fear you are going to miss out on someone better. I don't date because dating has been a sick game where you hang on to one person, and make that person develop feelings for you while you continue looking for something "better." And that person that catches the said "feelings" is the only one that gets hurt. Or it's a game of attraction, if you aren't thin, curvy, pretty, althletic, sexy, short, tall, or handsome enough, you are overlooked no matter how good your personality is, no matter how well you would take care of that person, or even how much you can love them. Love isn't enough anymore. People don't get married for love you silly goose. People get married for what you have and what you can give them. Oh, you don't have a house, an expensive car, a bank account with thousands of dollars in it...then there is nothing you can do for anyone. People get married for social and econmic reasons regardless of whether they love the person or not.
I don't date because I am not attracted to how men or women approach others. You assume too much and you are jaded about what you should expect from the other person.

This is why rape culture is a thing. And speaking as a rape victim, I am reclaiming my time and my body. Because guess what, I was wearing a tshirt and sweats when I was raped...do you think I deserved it based on that?

I don't date because men and women alike have continually proved me right in the fact of you all want one thing, and that is sex. Since I have been celibate and have taken sex off the table, I get called every name under the sun. Did I say I would never have sex, nope, no I didn't.
