When trying to get a book published you must submit a query letter to an agent or publisher. The following is my letter. Please vote and comment.... this can be the thing that makes a person want to read the book verus having an agent toss it.
LETTER
I recently completed a novel entitled Her Best Friend's Lover that I would like to submit to your company for consideration. It is an urban piece based on a friendship that is tested when the main character, Lela, vixen turned hero betrays Violet, friend turned foe and how both their lives are transformed over a period of two years.
Her Best Friend's Lover deals with real life issues such as love, lust, adultery, arrogance, hope and deceit. It questions the limitations of its reader and brings a new perspective to old scenarios."Can a friendship endure whatever life throws at it?" is the burning question Lela struggles to answer.
After conversing with diverse individuals it became apparent that common social issues exist. Her Best Friend's Lover provides a fresh outlook on some of the underlying problems that plague in our communities. I am currently working on another free standing book entitled Zoned. It is about a young woman trapped in an abusive relationship who battles herself to find the ultimate high. Thank you for your consideration of this proposal. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
