My Warped Day 2010

After only making an outline for last years WT I've decided to type up a quick blog mostly for my personal records because I do not think anybody reads these things anymore.
Ended up leaving here early and getting there at about 11:30am which was the earliest I think we've ever made it there.  Instead of having the bands and everyone on the concrete as in years past it was on grass which was better for the heat, but not better for my shoes, stepped in gum somewhere along the way, but that could have happened on concrete too. There was a nice hill to sit on and could see and hear the main stage while taking a break from walking around in the large crowd of people.
After finding where all of the different stages were we looked at the big board for when the bands play.  Three of the 10 bands that I wanted to see played at the same time roughly 1:30.  I ended up seeing the last 4 songs of The Cab and the last 4 songs of Pierce The Veil so I'm not quite sure what I missed from them, but I'm assuming not so much since they only get 20-30 minutes to play.
Back tracking here a bit, the first band we watched were The Early Strike from California and they were pretty good.  They have a female bassist that sings along with one of their other guitar players.  They were on the radio show I watch on Wednesday and Thursdays and they were fun on there so I figured it'd be good to watch them play and it was, I liked it.
I may be going out of order here a bit, but the other bands we saw were: Four Year Strong and were standing more towards the back so I couldn't see very much or take any pictures from that far back and have them turn out.  Only ended up taking 10 pictures the entire day mostly for that reason.
As far as other bands we saw:  After Midnight Project ( sat down and watched from the side of the stage) Of Mice And Men for a couple of songs ( also sitting at the side of the stage/same starge AMP were playing at)
Andrew W.K. ( watched the whole set from the side of the stage, but towards the back.  Such a good show he puts on with the help of his bandmates and dancer/singer Shelly.
Watched all of Emarosa from the side and back, but I don't really think their music and especially his voice translates very well to a loud festival type setting where there are harder bands playing at the same time mostly because of his voice I could barely hear some of the things he was singing, but his voice is amazing and it might have been better if I was up close.  He definitely needed something to drink after singing like that for 30 minutes.
Reverend Payton and his band play very fun music. Your cousin was on cops!!
Also was on the hill and heard the last 2 songs from Reel Big Fish.
Finished off the day with walking around and watching whatever bands happened to be playing while we were waiting to walk up that big hill and find our ride home. Vanna ( I knew one part of the first song they played and sang that loudly even though we were standing in the back away from any part of the crowd, but I had fun anyway )
Walked by White Chapel and the guy talks just like he screams I had never heard that before.
Face To Face made fun of such bands, but I guess they can do so because they've been a band for 20 years now.  Face To Face were officially the last band we saw for the day of WT 2010.
Put on sunscreen before we left and again in the middle of the day so I did not get burned very badly. A little red on my neck where my bag pushes my shirt down.  Ended up with a bruise on my foot and another battle scar on my foot that has gone away since this afternoon when I woke up.  Got a good 13 or 14 hours of sleep after an exhausting day in the heat and sun whenever it decided to peek out.
2 girls came by and asked if I had heard of Take Cover and I said that I didn't so they had me listen to a song of theirs which was awkward to do with them sitting in front of me and asking me if I had heard of the band.  I ended up buying what they were selling a 6 song EP for $5 and I haven't heard the whole thing yet, but I think it's pretty good and worth the money.
As I do every year I bought the VWT compilation from John Cheese and he is such a nice and great guy.  I gave him a dollar tip and the last of our food tickets and he was very greatful.
As my status says I ended up leaving Warped Tour with battle scars, CDs, a shirt, photos, and a great time!!  Excited for next year when it will be my 8th time going!!
LATER!!!
