For those of you who know me, you know that I'm not a political person, and I'm not one that normally goes on about world issues, but I do want to say something about the war that's going on over in Iraq……... ITS FUCKING RETARDED.
I've been reading my fathers VFW magazine, and each month, there is a section dedicated to the troops that have been killed on enemy soil, both in Iraq and in Afghanistan, a few of the deaths, however, are accident and disease related, but not many of them. Over the past several months the number of troops that we've been losing has been going up at a steady rate.
Now I have the question WHY? Why are OUR soldiers being placed in harms way over in those countries?
I've heard two stories as to why we are over there, one of the stories is based around their oil fields, I've heard that at some point or another that the worlds economy is going to be based around oil versus gold, which if this happens, America will become a third world country, is there any truth to this, I don't know….. Another story that I've heard is that our President and Commander and Chief of America says that if we pull out, they will follow us over onto American soil.
Well, I don't know what my opinion is about the first story, the oil, but if this is in fact a true story, why doesn't President Bush just let them fight their own war over there and destroy themselves, and then we can go in and take their oil fields. Now, if it's the second story, and we're still fighting as a repercussion of September 11, and he is truly scared of them coming over to our country.. FUCK it, pull out and let them try! I think we could do a much better job of protecting our country actually being in our country.
The reason I'm writing this is because of the fact that I have friends that are going to be in Iraq in about 2 months, after they finish their training at Camp Shelby in Mississippi, and one of these soldiers happens to be the man I love with all my heart and soul, along with him several soldiers that I met on my latest road trip up to Salem to visit John before he left. All wonderful men and women….. that are risking their lives for this war that I don't understand, and quite frankly don't like.
I also have a friend that just came back from his 3rd tour and isn't doing to well in the head after an experience over there where he was forced to shoot 3 women that the inserges were using as shields as they were shooting at our soldiers…. The women were innocent bystanders that ended up losing their lives because our soldiers were placed in a position that it was either their lives or the lives of those women.
FUCK I HATE THIS WAR………..
BUT I DO GIVE THANKS TO AND PRAY FOR OUR MEN AND WOMEN THAT ARE OVER IN THESE FOREIGN COUNTRIES FIGHTING FOR OUR COUNTRY AND ALL OF THE FREEDOMS THAT WE HAVE.
GOD BLESS THE UNITED STATES MILITARY, AND
PLEASE BRING THEM ALL HOME SAFELY TO US!
