So, I'm fluttering around the "I'm Bored" section, jumping from pic to pic of man and woman; toon and animal; car and house... whatever is posted. I'm giving my honest-to-goodness opinion rating to each. I'll be honest, I do NOT rate everyone a 10 or 11 unless the picture I am presented with is interesting to me. I know some (most) people do, but I feel that basically ruins the entire rating system to begin with. Why rate at all if you're gonna make everyone "perfect"? That makes no sense to me. There is a scale there... it should be used.
So I get this message from someone who, apparently, didn't like the rate I gave his pic. He decides to lecture me on the finer points of how fubar people rate each other and basically I did it all wrong, as if I'm a newb.
Please, son. I was helping build the internet while you were still picking boogers from your nose.
Personally, I find it slightly funny how this man is upset. He doesn't fit my particular taste (not saying he's fugly, but he's not my flavor, okay) so why should I score him a 10 or 11? Most times I would ignore a message like this, and just block the person... but I decided to be fair and reply.
He responded. I was ammused by his reply. He goes on about how I am rude, and how I'm not even on his friend list so how dare I rank his photo a 6 and he's going to block me. Wah wah wah.
He's been on Fubar since the early days of CherryTap, and yet he doesn't realize that all public images are cycled for people to rate? Really? If a person doesn't want images rated, then make them private, or better - don't post them at all, I say! Leave the boring, no smile, blah picture on your phone and post something that makes a 10 and 11 worthwhile again!
And yes, before he blocked me, he decided to "downrate" all of my pictures.
The funny thing is, a 1 is still a rating and yes, that contributes to the numbers.
Its actually better to NOT rate if you wanna "hurt" someone. Does a 1 really affect things? Nah... my scores all went up with those 1's.
So this got me wondering, if "everyone" ranks everyone else a 10 or 11, what's the sense of ranking anyway? Someone help me with that concept...
