I think we have all been there sometime or other. The good, warm feeling we get when we have been drinking a little bottle of wine, and maybe an evening of candlelit dinners, and watching the sunset from a park. I think that used to be the old me.The new me, I think is more the sitting on the tailgate of a pickup, watching the sea bob up and down, and having a picnic dinner with maybe a beer or two. It isn't the same when you get out of a long term relationship. At least from my perspective.
I was married for 8 years, and then to add to that, dated for almost 7 before we got married. It was a rocky relationship, and she had her mind set(geez...stubborn too.) on her parents living practically next door. SO....we separated amicably, I think the night that I walked in on her and a former college classmate in the apartment where she was living. I was tired, and coming in from a hard day at work...and those things just happened; to me all the time. That is when it clicked...it wasn't me...it was that she wanted out of the relationship. So, it began. The fighting wasn't about her wanting to go to see her mom and dad in Cleveland...it was about breaking it off without letting me know....exactly.
I was schooled on relationships early on. I just was a slow learner...
