I have two friends, currently married to each other, that are seperated for the last 2 weeks and will be getting a divorce. One is my best friend whom I have known for 25 years. The other is her spouse whom I have known for 20 years. To be quick about this I am like the kid in the in a custody battle. My first loyalty is to her and she doesn't want me to continue to have to much contact with her spouse who really doesn't have any other friends. I don't think she should say not to hang out with him on occasion and nor does he need to make me his super buddy/therapist. Should I tell her look I am not cutting him out of my life just because you are or try to slowly pull away until he finds his way completely on his own. And for those who wonder this is a friendship only situation. |
