Sometimes I wish I had the power to make things come right for you.
Sometimes I wish I had all the money in the world to give you the things you dream of. 
Sometimes I wish I had treasures to pass on to you.

But I gave you what I could...your five bright senses, the world about you. Take what you want, add your own to it, and pass on the gift of love.
It is enough.

I wish you eyes to see...the turn of the leaves, the spurt of raindrops on a shining street, rainbows, a swirl of stars in a country sky, my smile every time I see you, and the love in your childrens eyes.

I wish you ears to hear...the murmur of a flowing stream, a morning robin, the sound of traffic, the voices of children singing, and me whispering I love you.

I wish you the sense of smell...clean laundry, a fire burning, a sweet red rose, a cold winters night, and that good homecooking when you visit me.

I wish you the sense of touch...rocks and sand, fresh green grass, dogs, cats, or any other animal you may acquire, familiar and loving hands, and a big hug from me.

i wish you the sense of taste...fresh baked cake, sour grass and honeysuckle, a newly picked apple, and moms sweet tea.

I wish you Life.

Life since you came has been like an extra-ordinary book...one where I just cant wait to turn the page and see what new thing you have done.

I am so proud of the achievements you have made, and already proud of the ones you will make in your future. I know you will have worked hard for each and every one. I am proud of your looks and your intelligence. But I am most proud of you just being you. You are special to me whatever you do. 

And always know that No, youre not perfect, and Im sorry I sometimes seem to demand perfection from and for you. You are, however, better than perfect in my eyes. You are a unique piece of humanity, and Im everlastingly thankful that alittle of me is caught up in your being. And that you carry me into a future I will never know.

You are a part of me and your dad..and yet yourself forever.

Never forget that youre not just special to me. You are special! And thats that.

Thank you for giving me the chance to play pattycake, sing lullibies, play house with you and your dolls, play with hotwheels, and watch you ride your bikes, pet animals at the zoo, and ride fair rides. Thank you for an excuse to bake birthday cakes and Thanksgiving dinners. Thank you for bringing back the fun in my life. Thank you for believing my Birthday cakes were better than store bought ones, my coloring was amazing, and my singing the best in the world.. A child gives us our own first times all over again. Thank you for reawakening wonder.

You will choose your own faith. All I ask is that you show reverence for every living thing that shares your world. If you must destroy, destroy only from necessity and with full knowledge of what you do.You have to fight your own battles. But I am here in your corner with a bucket and sponge. All I can do is be here.
Always.

My hope for you is that all your life you will go on being astonished and delighted by the world about you. Ofcourse I dream I could give you all the places I cant take you..Hawaii, Paris, Africa, Rome, Greece, Ireland. But you may not want them. I wish you your own places, your own adventures, your own loves. You have my love. The love that links us. Take it with you into your world.

I wish you happy and secure, comfortable and wise.
I wish you the passion that creates. And pray the passion that destroys passes you by. I hope you find what you want to do and do it, Well.
I wish you the beauty of silence, the glory of sunlight, the sweetness of the air, and the love that lies at the very root of things.
I wish you the wonder of just living.
I wish you a belief in the fundamental worth of human kind, and that includes yourself.
I wish you love. Romance, yes. But, too, the love of those who lie together in the darkness and talk of times past.
I wish you the reaching of childrens arms and their sticky kisses, a dogs companionable sigh, the reassuring touch from someone you love, and the lighting up of your childrens eyes.

I wish you children just like YOU!
