absent from fubar

I've been gone from this site for too long. Things'll change once they start to settle down over here. Still love you guys.

young wild things tour

Disclaimer: FBR is a label owned by the devil himself and he's got something against me. I swear it. No really. I've had tickets to see Panic! At the Disco twice and something came up and lost both sets. Last time FOB was in town, I couldn't get tickets then we just happened to be on the free way above the Marquee the night OF the concert. Say hai to pete in the parking lot from the freeway! Everything seemed to be heading in that direction again, which is why I'll start with all the problems we ran into. Also, pics from a different concert, but same set up. clothes and all. Problem 1: Time zones. We all went out of town for Thanksgiving. The concert date: 25th of September, 7pm. Justin and Vicky had an appointment with the wedding venue out in Orange, CA at 10:30 (11:30 local time). They didn't get out until 2pm local time. It takes at least seven hours to get back into Phoenix. You do the math. Already, we were afraid they were going to make it or we wouldn't be able to find them by the time they did arrive. Problem 2: Where the Fuck are our tickets? We had all moved. The tickets had come in the mail months prior. Vicky had them. Where were they? Well, she didn't know. The VCR box. Chris and I had to go all mission impossible style to get into the garage and then disable the house alarm. Then, we couldn't find them in the box. Took us an hour. 4pm. We have the tickets. Justin and Vicky? Just hitting Blythe. Problem 3: Football and Snow in Denver Chris and I drop off the baby with my mom, then make our trek out to Glendale. Living in Queen Creek, really it's about two hours away. As we're leaving, I notice on the telly that there's a football game going on at Glendale Arena, which is literally across the sidewalk from Jobing.com Arena. The traffic was horrible, the game was going to end at any time. The parking lot was packed. We find a spot, miraculously. We get up to the venue and there's a huge sign that says: FALL OUT BOY CONCERT FOR SUNDAY, 25TH OF NOVEMBER POSTPONED UNTIL MONDAY, 26TH OF NOVEMBER. Due to road conditions, the Wild Young Things tour is postponed. Tickets for the 25th concert will be honored on the 26th at 7pm. I laughed. My husband began to refer to FOB as "SOB". Problem 4: Work. Vicky and Christopher had to work. Vicky got out of work at 5pm. Doors opened at the arena at 5:30. We didn't get there until 6:30, but it wasn't that big of a deal. We ate while there and stood around waiting for Chris. We had pit tickets so it wasn't as if we were in any rush. He didn't finish his last job until 7pm. He didn't get there until nearly 8pm. Have to love rescheduled concerts. Cute Is What We Aim For Sucked. Shaant really is the biggest rockstar asshole on the face of the planet and thinks he's god's gift to women, so he just seemed really pathetic up there on stage with hardly anyone giving a shit about it. He got tongue tied and embarrassed himself. Then he got pissed cause of it and basically told the band members to "shut the fuck up and play the fucking song". I didn't stick around. I went back out to the front of the venue to wait for my husband. I won't show respect to artists who can't get their act together. Plain White T's They were probably the best act, singing wise and stage presence wise. These are the guys who really warmed up the crowd and got the thing started. CIWWAF might as well have been a lounge band that people stand around listening to just for background noise. The crowd though loved PWT. I have a new love for them, despite how tired I am of hearing "Hey There Delilah". Gym Class- wait. no. Tiger came out of no where while they were setting up for GCH and sang "Soldier Boy" and his newest song. It was a nice surprise. Certainly wasn't on the bill and it was exciting. I really do like the mix of rap and rock that's been happening lately. Gym Class Heroes Travie has to be one of the sweetest musicians out there. He really connected with the audience and probably talked to everyone as much as they played. He had a story for every song. Tiger came out and sang a couple songs with him. They had some funky ass guy in a mascot costume dancing around the place and people with flags. Everyone was into it. It was awesome. Except this one fucking asshole. People tried to push closer to the stage, of course. Couldn't be helped. When you're pushed, you push forward. Well this girl got punched in the jaw by the asshole and then he nearly broke her sister's ribs. Hey, I've been to many rock concerts in my life. I'm all for the rough housing and mosh pits, but honestly, just flat out punching this girl simply because she was pushed into you by no fault of her own? My blood boiled. I lost my friends in the crowd during "The Queen and I" and the more this guy shoved into us, the more I was itching to fucking draw his blood. I went out for a cigarette. I was close to doing something that would have gotten me kicked out and probably hurt. I'm actually proud of myself. In the past, I would've done something. Especially since they had a song with strobe lights that they played specifically to get out that pent up energy. He wouldn't have seen me do it. I might have gotten away with it. I made the right choice to get out. It got worse, when Patrick Stump came out singing "Clothes Off". Felt we were all going to die, we were all so shoved in tight. Though, I do have to say that it was absolutely nothing like the Killer's concert of 2005 where I got a broken rib because of all the pubescent teenage girls trying to get to Brandon Flowers. Fall Out Boy What can be said about FOB? You either like them or you don't. There isn't much of an in between with this band. I personally adore them. They're clever with their lyrics and Pete's a real entrepreneur. He's the one that got all the bands that played last night signed. They had good stage presence. Pete did excellent with his broken foot, even if he was hobbling around the stage on one foot half the time. He put it into the show. They had fire. I don't know. I just thought that was cool. I love the fact that they stole all their scenery and video stuff from "Where the Wild Things Are". And the Happy Tree Friends video for "Carpel Tunnel of Love" is fucking awesome. I'm going to put it in my stash when I'm done with this. Check out the gruesome fun of it. They covered "Mr. Brightside", which as being first and foremost a Killer's fan, I thought that was pretty freakin sweet. Pete called them "The Meanies" which was funny. I assume that Brandon and Pete worked out their differences. Someone threw panties on stage and practically on Pete's bass when they sang "No one put's baby in the corner" acoustically. I called Kelly and Lindsay during the concert (even though lindsay hates FOB!) It's really becoming a tradition. We're planning to go see Cobra Starship in February. I think we're just going to make our way through all the Decaydence bands. Picture250editcopy.jpg Picture246editcopy.jpg ... I really want Pete's bass. like fuck.
