When you meet someone new, and your getting to know each other, primarily if they are of the opposite sex, the question of marital status ALWAYS pops up. The conversation goes like this…
“Are you married?”
“No, I’m divorced.”
“Oh, I’m sorry.”
Why the hell would you be sorry that I’m divorced? Before now, we were complete strangers. It isn’t your fault that I’m divorced, and 98% of divorced people aren’t sorry that they are divorced. So why are you? If I was sorry that I got divorced, I wouldn’t be talking to you dumbass!
