regret-
voices rise from nothing
and call upon my name
the unknown becoming something
peace becoming pain
shadows surround
im too young to die
beating me down
im too old to cry
pictures on a shelf
catch that silent moment
staring at myself
reaching out to hold it
my eyes review my history
the final chapter ends
every bridge ive burned has blistered me
and i cannot go back to mend
walk once more the road i chose
stumble across my mistakes
the final thorn on my wilted rose
pierced the last breath i would take
i know i cannot turn back time
nor erase whats carved in stone
they carry me to where i'll lie
beneath the seeds ive sewn
then all the things i wrote in life
that fled my mind to help me through
had spoke of death and darkest night.....
and have returned to me with truth.
