I write a lot of poetry and still write some lyrics from time to time, calling on my old days of being in a band. Decided to set this blog up to share some of my work. I wrote this shortly after I left my ex and found out she was with someone else, probably before our marriage endded. It's called Shoot me a Hat Trick
Like the blade that stings my vein
so goes the pain of seeing
you with him
Bitter sweet memories
steal my soul
to better days
With this weight
upon my chest
I walk away
wishing you the best
The burns you left upon my soul
a reminder
I’m better off alone
So shoot me a hat trick
explode your fist
in my memory
As this silence
deafens me
and this knife cuts
through my guts
I dream of toasting you
through richer
or through poor
and as you live your life
care free
without a second thought of me
My hatred only fills
the void that was once
the home of guilt

of lost hope
With no family
with no home
I bury all empathy
for the one
that once made me whole

Take all of your nothingness
