There I sit in my deepest pit of Hell,
It is dark, cold and I'm all alone,
How long will I suffer, only time will tell,
My soul has shriveled till it is only bone.
There in the emptiness, cold and dark,
In the continuing silence my heart does dwell,
For the briefest instance I see a Spark,
The Spark of friendship, blinding my Hell.
First in the gloom there is only one,
One who will look past the physical me,
Past my pain and despair the Spark has won,
Seeing past my age, my looks, my disabilities.
That one little Spark warms my heart like the sun,
Driving the shadows of darkness away,
Showing me now that life is still fun,
Bringing me back to the light of day,
From the light of one Spark others can see,
That I might be a person for you to know,
The real person that is hidden in me,
Bringing me back from the depths far below.
And so to the Spark that is my friend,
I want You to know how much this means,
I will always be here, until the end,
Standing beside you, just like you have been for me.
