Good Morning...
Ok, well maybe not the best of mornings for us NY Mets Fans. I didn't sleep that great but woke up I must admitt feeling proud. Proud simply because I still Love my NY Mets.
Unlike the faithfull (cough cough) NY Yankee Fans, even though the Mets got knocked out of the playoffs I can't help but still be proud of them.
I won't sit and make excuses or whine like some people I know do. I'll be the first to say they blew it. Twice they had bases loaded and a chance to open the game up and couldn't get the job done. That's baseball... you never know what will happen next.
Let's applaud them too though. Here is a team that made leaps and bounds of improvement over last year. Sure winning the World Series is the ultimate goal but isn't improving each year important too? I sure as hell know that's what I teach my children. It's not winning but improving and giving it 100% that counts most. Do that and eventually you will reach your goals.
The Mets went in without 2 of their top pitchers right from the start. No one figured they stood a chance at that point. Look at the guys who come from the shadows and help drive them to a game 7 in the NLCS. Guys that no one gave respect or credit to stepped up and gave us hope and smiles.
Bottom line here is simple.
To the NY Mets I say THANK YOU. THANK YOU for a wonderful season and post season. THANK YOU for giving it all you could for us fans. Get a good rest this off season and come back strong again next year. Keep believeing in yourselves like us TRUE FANS believe in you and World Series 2007... Look Out The Mets Will Be Coming.
