What are you waiting for?

College

Okay, we took our friend Keith home who spent a couple nights here and went to my husband Marty's dentist appt. at 11. They just took x-rays. On Aug. 1st he will have his teeth cleaned, cavities filled, and the 2 bad teeth pulled...thank God! Now, I told him he better brush his teeth every day and keep going back to the dentist every 6 months. No more of this dog-poop-breath crap. Then we went to Neiman's Market and got some lunch. I got some egg rolls and Marty got some little sandwiches. I took 2 bites of one of the egg rolls in the car and then they fell on the floor of the car. That was the end of that, a real waste. Yuck. So Marty ran back into the store and got me some cold chicken. We ate and then went to the college and hung out in the library waiting for Marty's Compass Placement Test to start at 1:30. I took him to the room he needed to go to and then I went back to the library to wait for registration to start, which was at 2. I should have gone into the gym early, though. Everybody else seemed to and I didn't know it. The lines were long already when I got there right at 2. I stood in the line I needed to be in for like 45 minutes and it was hot in there. I was pouring sweat down my back, yuck. But I FINALLY made it up to the table and got my schedule. The lady made it so I have 3 day weekends, Friday, Sat., and Sundays off, yay! I got 2 art classes, the creative writing class I wanted, reading and English. I took the slip up to the next table and the woman entered and printed my schedule. Then I found out AFTER they used my financial aid I STILL owe $668.00 and that's NOT including books! Ugh! But the financial aid guy said to apply for loans, that I AM eligible, not I might be, but that I AM. So good! Marty finished his placement test and they told him to go right to the gym and register today. I thought he'd have to wait until his financial aid came in and register at the late registry in late Aug., but no, so good. He is taking network administration computer classes. He is applying for a loan, too, because we doubt what he will get for financial will cover it all, either. Then we went to the financial aid office and got the loan application forms and I filled them out tonight and we will return them tomorrow. After that whole rat race we ate at the Friendship Room, came home, I called Ma and talked for awhile, and then I took a nap. Here's my schedule: Eng-229-Creative Writing-Tuesdays and Thursdays-2 p.m. to 3:20 p.m. Art 123-Design 1-Tuesdays and Thursdays-10 a.m. to 11:50 a.m. Art 127-Basic Drawing 1-Mondays and Wednesdays-3:35 p.m. to 5:25 p.m. RDG-098-Startegies/Study Skills-Mondays and Wednesdays-12:20 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. RDG 098L-Star/Study Skills Lab-Mondays and Wednesdays-10:10 a.m. to 11:05 a.m. Eng 111-English-Tuesdays and Thursdays-4:30 p.m. to 5:50 p.m. For those of you who are in or have been in college, what's a lab? I don't get any credit hours for it. Is it like a study hall-type thing? Marty has 2 of them on his schedule and I have one. I'm so glad I don't have math this semester! It'll come before I'm done, but the longer it's put off the better, lol. And that's that. :) Bye.
