In July 2001 my then girlfriend and I went to Gettysburg to watch the reenactment of the battle fought there during the civil war. Our first night we stayed at a bed and breakfast called the Cashtown Inn.
If you have ever seen the movie it is a big red brick building they show as Lee's troops are moving into Gettysburg. Lee actually set his headquarters up there during the battle.
Anyway we get to the Cashtown Inn and check in and go to our room. In the room they had a guest book to write your experience about your stay and also had 2 movies Gettysburg and The Ghosts of Gettysburg.
I started watching the ghosts of Gettysburg and up pops the place we are staying in. (I did not know it was supposed to be haunted or I would never have stayed there lol). So my girlfriend starts reading the stories in the guestbook.
After the movie was done we went to bed and Penny was scared so she left a light on. I fell asleep probably within 5 minutes. This was around midnight.
Well at 2:30 something or someone taps me on the shoulder and I immediately open my eyes and Penny is facing me in bed with her eyes closed. My first thoughts were " okay she is sleeping who just tapped me on the shoulder" and my second thought was "if they tap me on the shoulder again I am so out of here lol"
All of a sudden she opens here eyes and said " are you awake? I need to go to the bathroom and you need to stay awake till I am done". I said thanks for scaring the crap out of me lol and waited for her to get done.
Needless to say I didn't sleep well the rest of the night. Would I have left her there if I got that second tap on the shoulder? I 'll never tell lol. I have a few more ghost type stories to tell sometime later
