It's funny how memories of the past can come to you when least expected. Today I was reminded of a time 2 years ago when I thought I was madly in love. A friend of mine was teasing me about my screen name on the app KIK. I haven't used it in over 2 years but when he mentioned it I was reminded of what felt like the best year and a half of my life.
I met this amazing, charasmatic, funny, sexy as hell British guy on here. He was so damn charming and sweet. He drew me in with his humor and how he would always listen to me even when I didn't make much sense to myself. We fell in love or so I thought. Anyway, we started a long distance relationship and it was working out great. We even started talking about me making the move to England and making it permanent. A long distance relationship is hard enough when it's a city or states away but it's especially hard when there is a huge pond keeping you apart.
The distance and longing to be together was very hard to handle at times. Then things changed and they changed quickly. He quit talking to me and wouldn't return texts. I never knew what went wrong. I even blamed myself for awhile. Then I realized it wasn't meant to be. I hadn't done anything wrong. He had. Anyway, the time for blame is long past. The loss of the connection hurt yet it was an experience I could never regret.
Loving someone is easy if you accept them for who they are. I loved him greatly and I learned that it's ok to love. It's ok to move on and it's ok to learn from lifes experiences. This life lesson tought me to be a stronger woman and I also learned that being soft isn't a negative thing. Nothing in life is permanent. Learning to love without regret is an amazing part of being human.
Life is amazing, it's beautiful, and it's wonderful. It's all in how you see life. How you handle all of lifes ups and downs. Love often even when it hurts but be strong enough to move on if that love isn't returned. Your made for better things. It's your life, live it the way you feel it should be lived. Don't regret your choices but learn from them and live your life to the fullest.
