such a bright. beautiful, sun-shiney day
They came that day
and took my lover away
They taught him to fight and
They taught him to kill
They took him across the ocean - Oh so far away
from me and from his son
They said he'd come back some day
whn he had fought and we had won
And so he fought, but we never won
he never came hom
He never saw his son
such a beautiful, handsome boy
So my boy grew up
and he became a man
