liked your openess in your comments - I started swimming laps mid May. I finished my first non-stop mile this past Thr - backstroke. Freestyle is faster but I dont do the breathing for that stroke very well so backstroke and breast stroke works for me. Besides I am not in it for the speed just the cardio. I am very self competitive so I wear a heart monitor to guage how well I am working out. I did the mile in 55 min 25 sec with an average heart rate of 146.I was in a bad motorcycle accident when a guy in a truck on cell phone ran a stop sign and totalled my motorcycle. I was upset about the bike but even more so about being bedridden for two months and crutches for 7 weeks. Went from riding my regular bicycle 70 - 80 at a time to nothing - body sure went out of shape quickly from the inactivity and boredom snacking.
