********BACKGROUND EDUCATION ETC JUSTIFYING TUTORING ETC.
EDUCATION
math and computer whiz from the get-go, self-taught people skills
M.S. plus in math from Rice University and U. of Chicago, esp in differential topology and mathematics of chaos and catastrophe, in 1970s.
One year graduate computer science from U. of Illinois, Urbana. Later, self-taught in 4 systems internals specialties of computer science on the job -- database, operating systems, communications, and financial aid.
Almost archaic now.
Five religious courses from seminaries over the years, including cross cultural aspects.
Self-taught 10 years of studies in cognitive thinking styles and emotional IQ enhancement, with goal to be balanced, co-heir
( see Romans 8: 17 ), and live authentically with integrity as much as allowed to express.
Natural poetic tendencies from the get-go. Done in intuitive and spontaneous mode usually, partially using material from recent journal
notes. Can mix and match several modes as occasion needs.
EXPERIENCE
Original ambition was teach full time college math -- forget research.
But it didn't happen -- it all fell apart in a sequence of events. So, ended up as I was the first of a family of successful computer programmers -- 4 so far. Remnants of original goal has been tutoring and part-time 2nd job at community colleges. When "switched majors" to cognitive thinking, somehow the research skill facility zoomed like magic and breeds synergy
for me. My motto -- "syncopate with the serendipity". Another -- "never say never".
Worked as computer programmer/analyst, 30 years from 1974 - 2005 almost continuously same job skills but varying issues to solve, must rely
mostly on intuition.
Some lyrics published professionally a few years ago, but no $ result. Surprisingly proved to be prophetic of my life.
SKILLS
Most obvious skill is ability to recognize patterns. Prefer not to deal extensively with contorted logic with neverending exceptions anymore .
Get along with 57 wpm typing speed when hands not shaky.
Sometimes use inspirational poems to give people vision and result in enthusiastic advances in flexibility of viewpoint. Have written a few myself and friends put them to music for me for modest fee or free.
I have a tendency toward humor along the lines of the tooth fairie and St.Nick , because I look like St. Nick, since about 7 years ago. Humor sometimes comes in almost neverending jokes/stories -- more like many ends, along line of the Arabian Nights.
PERSONAL INFO
left handed write, eat / bat right handed, throw left handed side-armed.
age 62 3 sisters, 2 daughters, 2 niece/nephew, 1 granddaughter.
Favorite Bible verse Phil 4:8, most earnest
belief Heb 11:6 .
Favorite towns Austin, Berkeley, Chicago
Favorite humorists are John Belushi and Dan Akroyd.
favorite movie is The Blues Brothers
favorite vacation spot is DisneyWorld
Handed spiritual gifts: encouragement and knowledge mostly in one-on-one or small group situations, because of my off-the-wall remarks tendencies which otherwise exasperate
strait-laced folks. I can do my duty with whatever "nomenclature" a person is comfortable with of which I have been informed or discerned.
"2nd blessing" among Methodists.
I learned to appreciate the goodwill methods of Briggs-Myers personality theory.

Dear Sir:
I am interested in tutoring at your facility, of inmates and/or guards.

EDUCATIONAL CREDENTIALS
Although I am retired from computer programming, my education is mostly in math with a masters from U of Chicago. I write poems. I am
self-taught in some aspects of English and cognitive thinking. I have taken 5 courses from seminary. I am Methodist.
ITEMS DESIRED TO TUTOR UP TO 5 AT A TIME

1. Math from A to Z, especially GED and
making $ change

internet usage
3. Bible topics upon audience suggested subject.
On subjects new to me I would use R.A.
Torrey's nested hierarchical study notes
4. How to think reliably/dependably and
sometimes creatively, based on cognitive
thinking which public school teachers study
for their accreditation.
5. How to write poems that rhyme and also to
modify preexisting poems to make new ones
easily with more thoughts put in
6. A few original joke stories entertainment
about my lookalike St. Nick and the Tooth
Fairie
