While not everybody within the local media is convinced, many national pundits see the Cleveland Browns grabbing a quarterback in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft. Brian Hoyer has not yet proven himself to be a true starter in the NFL, and he is also coming off of a torn ACL. The Browns have impact players on offense. They need somebody to run the show.

Is that somebody Johnny Football?

First pick: WR Sammy Watkins, Clemson: The Browns snatching Andrew Hawkins from the Cincinnati Bengals does not at all mean that Watkins won't be an option for Cleveland at No. 4 overall. Hawkins is a slot receiver, and the Browns still need a solid second option at the position behind Josh Gordon. Watkins is the top Malcolm Smith Jersey offensive play maker prospect in the draft, and the Browns are reportedly impressed with the player's overall body of work.

There are, however, some insiders who believe Watkins could be selected Malcolm Smith Authentic Jersey before Cleveland is first called to the podium.

Second pick: QB Derek Carr, Fresno State: Cleveland's interest in Carr, if any actually exists, may be irrelevant on May 8. The draft stock of the Fresno State quarterback is on the rise, so much so that he could be taken by a team that is currently in the top ten of the draft order.

Cleveland Browns NFL mock drafts: Will Brinson

First pick: QB Johnny Manziel, Texas A Brinson sees Manziel as do many others; as a player that would "rejuvenate" a franchise that has mostly known losing since 1999. There will be, up until he plays in a meaningful game, concerns about whether or not Johnny Football will be able to win on Sundays. I remain convinced that the Browns can't and won't pass on Manziel if he is there for them here.

Second pick: WR Brandin Cooks, Oregon State: Cooks landing in Cleveland had been a popular opinion in mock drafts up until March 18, when the Browns learned that they would, for sure, be signing Hawkins. The Oregon State WR is a rookie version of Hawkins. He will no longer be an option for Cleveland, at least not in the first round.

Cleveland Browns NFL mock drafts: Dane Percy Harvin Womens Jersey Brugler

First pick: QB Teddy Bridgewater, Louisville: Brugler is very good Percy Harvin Kids Jersey at what he does, and it's quite possible that he knows something that those who specifically cover the Browns don't know. The perception following the NFL Combine has been that Cleveland has little interest in drafting Bridgewater at all, and that was before his "average" pro day. I would, if the draft occurred today, be shocked to see the Browns go down this route.

Second pick: LB Ryan Shazier, Ohio State: The draft stock of Shazier changes per mock draft that you read. Some don't have him as a first round pick. Some have him being selected before Cleveland utilizes the No. 26 pick. I see the Browns as having other needs to fill than linebacker in the first round, but that could change if the team doesn't choose a quarterback earlier in the first round.

Cleveland Browns NFL mock drafts: Don Banks

First pick: Manziel: Banks wrote the following about Johnny Football: "If I'm choosing between Manziel or Teddy Bridgewater, I'm taking the guy who has won in big game settings and seems to relish all that comes with the glamor position of quarterback." Manziel is the injection of life the Browns have needed since the end of the 2007 NFL regular season, and that is a big reason why Banks and others are predicting that he ends up in Cleveland brown and orange.

Second pick: Cooks : Cooks is lightning quick, but the Browns need to choose a lengthy WR here after grabbing Hawkins in free agency.

Cleveland Browns NFL mock drafts: Rob Rang

First pick: QB Blake Bortles, UCF: There are analysts who believe that Bortles will be selected before the Browns can grab him. A year ago, Ra'Shede Hageman sat and watched the NFL draft knowing he made the Russell Wilson Navy Jersey right decision to return for his senior year at the University of Minnesota.

Wherever he goes, the Minneapolis Washburn grad finally feels ready to take advantage of the opportunity, something he believes would not have been possible without four years of college, on and off the field.

"I'm just kind of embracing everything," he said. "Obviously, it's kind of overwhelming. But it lets me know to keep focusing and to stay hungry. I have a goal at hand, and I plan on reaching that."

"I think the sky's the limit. I think he can be an all pro. He just has to fine tune his skills and continue to develop."

Maroney and cornerback Willie Middlebrooks, selected 24th overall by Denver in 2001, are the Gophers' only first round picks in the past 24 years. Safety Brock Vereen is one of the top sleepers in this draft and projected to go as early as the third or fourth round.

"It helps us; it helps our program," Kill said. "That's what it's all about. It's the best publicity for the state of Minnesota and our university. I'm very proud of them."

THE RIGHT ATTITUDE

Hageman, an All American tight end at Washburn, was the most gifted in state recruit to pick the Gophers during coach Tim Brewster's tenure, but it was Kill who pushed him to focus more on school and studying the game.

After Brewster was fired in 2010, Hageman was a long way from reaching his potential on or off the field. He had been suspended for academic reasons and moved to a new position, defensive end.

Hageman, who has a 3 year old son, graduated in December with a degree in youth studies. For three years, Ricky Dobbs terrified college football defenses. As the quarterback of Navy, he ran the patented triple option offense to near perfection, leading the Midshipmen to 20 wins and a Texas Bowl championship over his final two seasons. In the process, the Georgia native ran for 2,665 yards and set the career scoring record at Annapolis with 296 points. During the memorable 2009 season, Dobbs eclipsed Tim Tebow's single season record for rushing touchdowns by a quarterback, finding the end zone 27 times.

With those numbers under his belt, it may have been surprising to find the most famous Navy gridiron player since Roger Staubach walking the sidelines in street clothes, at the serviceable, but far from glamorous, field behind Crittenden Middle School, near downtown Newport News, late on a Wednesday evening. Cecka Rose Green remembers her former senior homeroom teacher Eileen Warner.

She says she was more than just a teacher, she was a friend.

"She was an advocate for education she was a fierce spiritual and faithful woman who believed that god destined everybody's future," says Green. "And if you just put your trust in him and let him guide you he would tell you exactly what to do and she just supported the students and she never lost contact with anyone and she was always there if you needed to just talk with her."

Warner was a graduate of Florida A University. Her first and only job was teaching at FAMU High for thirty two years.

"She wore a lot of hats," says co worker, Ericka Cromartie.

" She was a friend to many of us," says former student, Chuck Hobbs, "She was the type of teacher that we could go to and tell her about the type of issues we may have been facing. And so for that I will never be able to tell her now how much I actually loved and appreciated her for what she did for me all those years ago."

The accident happened Saturday afternoon (June 7) about two miles from state road 12. 54 year old Eileen Warner was riding as a passenger of a vehicle when the left rear tire tread separated. The driver lost control of the car and it overturned.
