In this modern age we live in, computers are both beneficial and horrifying.
The Good.
Example A: Without my computer I would not be able to have fun writing and remaining in contact with my sons, who live in another city. Sometimes they would rather play around on the computer than talk on the phone, you know, kids these days, ha, ha!
The Bad.
Example A: I can never own a car, a boat, a house, ect. This is because the state I live in has a computer that automatically pulls any title of ownership I get because I owe back child support, even though over half my paycheck goes to paying this off.
The Good
Example B: After finding myself out of a job last year, I searched for jobs in my area that pertained to my field of expertiece. I found a company and emailed their manager of operations, got a phone call, and had a job the next day.
The Bad
Example B: After, by my own fault, overdrawing my bank account by 20 cents, the bank charged me $40 for an overdraft charge, $40 for a bad check, and another $40 because I didn't catch it before the end of the month. After unwillingly paying this outragious debt, I tryed to go to a different bank and their computer told them I was banned from openning an account because I still owed the other bank money. Seems somebody forgot to enter it in the "system" that it was paid.
I could go on and on. But in a nutshell, unless there is intelligent life behind the keyboard of a computer, systems, programs, and self operating agendas are mindboggling. And what are the usual excuses you get? "Oh, the computer must have automatically done it, I'm sorry."
What do you think. Are computers good or bad? |
