Whether you are pushing 40, 50, 60 (or maybe even just pushing your luck), you'll probably relate. Mid-life is when the growth of hair on our legs slows down. This gives us plenty of time to care for our newly acquired mustache. In mid-life women no longer have upper arms, we have wing spans. We are no longer women in sleeveless shirts, we are flying squirrels in drag. Mid-life is when you can stand naked in front of a mirror and you can see your rear without turning around. Mid-life is when you go for a mammogram and you realize that this is the only time someone will ask you to appear topless.

As of the Dr appointment today the baby still seems to be growing even though my daughter lost some weight from her last visit. Hopefully this is just a sign she is getting ready for the delivery. No signs of labor pains yet. The baby however now appears not to be turned all the way around. He is head first just face up rather then down. Depending on how things go this week the Dr may schedule a 3rd sonogram. Thanks again to all who have had my daughter and her unborn son in their prayers. In my efforts to get my blood pressure down a little, the natural way with diet and exercise I set out to up my intake of Omega-3, but to avoid Omega-6 and Omega-9. I'm trying to see if 6 months of fish oil, salmon, fortified milk and raw walnuts will have an effect. The Omega-6 and Omega-9 cause inflammation. Omega-3 counters inflammation. Good for protecting your heart, blood pressure, all that good stuff. As I found out, you can get a little too much and for me that's meant heart burn. I looked it up and I was getting about twice the daily recommended dose. I've found it's worth it to do a little internet research to find out that kind of stuff. Take care,Mighty

My husband joined the military and ever sense he did he's been gone most of the time.He was sent to boot camp while i was pregnant with our baby girl and he was gone most of the pregnancy. We did get really lucky compared to other military couples he was here for the birth for only two weeks afterwards.Then he had to go to his first station duty down in killeen texas. we had a 2 week old baby girl and we only got to see him on weekends if we got lucky.Then come to find out he was being shipped to iraq.Well it was a hard road to drive but we made it and he'll be leaving iraq november 23. I am really excited and cant wait to see him.we'll be moving down to killeen shortly after he comes home.

(Now at Camp Pendleton, San Diego, Marine Corps Recruit Training) Dear Ma and Pa: I am well. Hope you are too. Tell Brother Walt and Brother Elmer that the Marine Corps beats working for old man Minch by a mile. Tell them to join up quick before all of the places are filled. I was restless at first because you got to stay in bed till nearly 6 a.m., but I am getting so I like to sleep late. Tell Walt and Elmer all you do before breakfast is smooth your cot and shine some things. No hogs to slop, feed to pitch, mash to mix, wood to split, fire to lay... practically nothing. Men got to shave but it's not so bad... there's warm water. Military Wife Blog (for All Those Who Think It's Easy And Those Who Know Its Not!)
Ok everyone so another deployment is coming up for my husbands unit. This will be our second and the first was a trip. I had no idea what to expect but i did learn a couple of things. 1. Don't cry when they leave, smile give them a hug, kiss (grope if you like to torture your spouse) have them hold the baby, but don't cry till after they leave.....it makes them feel not as horrible as they leave you to get on the bus. 2. Get a babysitter for the first night cause you'll probably have a friend like mine who gets you tipsy on wine and than lets you cry in the shower. 3. Don't expect phone calls until at least 3 weeks after they leave....because if you do you'll drive yourself crazy. 4. Don't watch CNN or news channels, you'll never leave the living room you'll never change channels unless its to change the channel to another news channel while the first one is on commercials. It drives you crazy espically when you're hanging around just waiting for them to call 5. Don't expect calls
