"It was late in the evening and I was getting board all alone on a Friday night. I get dressed and decide to go to a movie. All by my self, I went to see a romantic comedy. I sat closer to the back but in the darkest corner I could find. Just after the movie started a man came and sat two seats down from me. A little upset that I just couldn’t be left alone, I tried to ignore him and watch the movie. After a little while he got up and went to get a drink. When he came back he sat in the seat right next to me, looked at me and smiled saying hi. I said hi and looked at him. WOW, what a handsome man I thought to myself. He was tall big muscles and a baby face that any woman would die for. He offered me some popcorn and I readily agreed. I got a voice mail from my ex wife saying that my sister in law passed away Friday. Talk about being hit hard. She was the the baby of the family and may have lead the hardest life of her of her family. She was under 40. I remember all the hear ache she caused my in laws. I remember all the heart she she caused my ex. She walked her walk and got lost in the lime light of drugs. One of the last times I seen her she looked like a human raisin. All the life sucked out of her. Last I had heard she found the road to recovery and was on it. She didn't die from an over dose she died from the after effects from years of abuse. She leaves behind both parents, a brother, two sisters an ex husband, a daughter and grand child, numerous nieces and nephews. Years ago I was on the same path of destruction. The trainig has started.. THis up coming June my daughters father is gonna be doin his first tour in either iraq or afghanistan.. He will be gone for up to 18 months mb longer.. The training for it has already start my daughters father will be leaving this up comin weekend to start his train n will be gone for a month or so.. Eveyday i wish for them to pull out.. I never thought i would have to go thru this with our daughter bein so lil and askin were daddy is it so hard. i want r troops to come home. To my family, friends and fans on CherryTap, Happy Thanksgiving late. I'm sorry I didn't get around with holiday wishes for you all, but I was offline, spending time with my real life family. Turned out to be one of the nicest Thanksgivings I've ever had in my life. Along with myself, my fiancee and her two kids, both my kids were there, my daughter with her boyfriend and my son in between legs of a tour. Also present were Catherine and Jason and my Grandson Kaydin. Every got along great and the food was scrumptious. Everyone pitched in to help with cleanup, so it actually ended without the usual huge mess in the kitchen. After dinner we had homemade pumpkin pie and toasted with Mikes Hard Lemonade before a 4 hour Guitar Hero tournament, during which our good friends Anne, Michelle and Ashly made appearances. All in all just a great day. Thanks to everyone there for all your efforts to make it a fantasic holiday! I'll remember this one for a long time!

Ok my mom goes out of town for work and she is goin to be gone for a few days. So her being the "pack rat, dont clean anythin" person, and me being "OCD" i get to started on cleaning the min she leaves. I clean the kitchen, livin room, and dining room. I cleaned for 7-8 hours that day, and bought a mop, and some cleaning stuff, and mop the floors and etc. Well the kitchen is sooooo clean ya can eat off the counters now. The kitchen is the main part of the house where I have to have it spotless. When she is here the kitchen is a nightmare from hell, you dont even wanna cook in it, hell you dont wanna go in it. Anyways, so the kitchen stayed clean for the 1st time in years, thanks to me. I even put up a curtain in there, and if ya ask me, it makes me think of spring when im in there. Yesterday my child met her father for the very first time. It's been 6 years myself since I had seen him. The past 6 years I have been trying to contact him so he can be a part of her life. I finally got that chance , it was weird for all three of us , I thought that it wouldn't go well I have alot of hostility built up for him just leaving me pregnant and never hearing from him , all of us are working on it for our child's sake. I thought it would be hard on her but she's in love with him and didn't want him to go she's so happy she got to meet her daddy!! After extending all that I have to the people around me, and I do mean everything including mind, body, and soul as well as money , I can not for the life of me understand why it is that a simple " Thank You " never comes to mind for these people. I did not ask for or want anything in return. I didn't do it to have something to hold over someone's head, I didn't do it for any type of accolade, I did it out of genuine concern and compassion. Sometimes we sit and think why is life so hard. Why are all these bad things going on in my life. Then you are faced with the unspeakable. The lost of one of your limbs. Ok, so here's the story. My best friend's brother and him moved to Alabama about 3 weeks ago. The brother has been in the hospital the past week. Was due to be discharged today. This morning at 9:30 am he called his brother and said to hurry up and get there they were trying to kill him. My friend arrived at the hospital,at 10:30 am to find his brother outside, slumped down in a wheelchair, with blood pouring from his mouth and arm. The nurses inside looked at him like he was crazy, but it was too late, Vick was already gone. This is about as much of the story as I got before the tears and hysterics started. I'll be leaving Thursday evening on a 15 hour car ride to get there, and try to help clean up this mess. Please keep us in your prayers. lol...Now that I got your attention, take a look at my new pic album. This might make you think a little more when you are on the roads. I was working local today. I was headed north on 95, towards 45th st., and traffic came to a halt (as usual in that area). A guy that was a little preoccupied, didnt notice what was ahead of him. By the time he did realize everything, it was too late. He had no time to stop, and SLAMMED into me. Thankfully, I remembered everything my father, and uncle ever taught me about driving. Just as he was about to hit, I let off the brakes a litle bit. That made the impact a little softer. Well I just wanted to say goodbye to everyone here on Fubar I will be leaving for training In Mississippi for 2 months then its off to Iraq for another 9 months. Well everyone I have finally made it home from a long deployment in Iraq, I have been home for about a month now and trying to readjust to being back in the states. I ran out of gas in on the 710 last night on my way to Long Beach. So I coasted off the freeway and into an outlet shoe store in Carson. They were closed but a guy told me there was a gas station a few miles down the road. So I started pushing my bike. I was only about half a mile or so down the road when Liz, the assistant manager from the store I was at asked if I wanted a ride. I told her that it was okay, but she insisted on helping. So she drove me to the gas station. But they didnt take cards. So she drove me to a bank...then back to the gas station then back to my bike. I tried to offer her some gas money but she wouldn't take it. Anyways.. thank you Liz..evan though I know you'll never see this. I'm just really glad to know that there are still nice helpful people out there!!

I have been married for quite a few years and the man I married is not the man I am married to today. Got this by email from a mailing list.... One year at Thanksgiving, my mom went to my sister's house for the traditional feast. Knowing how gullible my sister is, my mom decided to play a trick. She told my sister that she needed something from the store. When my sister left, my mom took the turkey out of the oven, removed the stuffing, stuffed a Cornish hen,and inserted it into the turkey, and re-stuffed the turkey. She then placed the bird(s) back in the oven. When it was time for dinner, my sister pulled the turkey out of the oven and proceeded to remove the stuffing. When her serving spoon hit something, she reached in and pulled out the little bird. With a look of total shock on her face, my mother exclaimed, "Patricia, you've cooked a pregnant bird!" How can you go out and drink yourself stupid, then drive 100MPH with your 6 year old kid in the car? Another one that I just took in to the hospital, that will survive, but is going to need many surgerys to repair his body. Many more years to heal him mentally, and only with professional help. He just happened to be with mom and dad with both intoxicated. Better yet no car seat, or booster seat. Better yet a seat belt. The kid was thrown over 60' from the car after impact with another car and a building.This is the part of the job I HATE. I haven't learned after almost 26 years of doing it. Ironically, this is probably going to be the first Thanksgiving I am going to enjoy since I have been back from Iraq. Last Year, was kind of on a down beat note considering I had recently gotten fired by former employer prior to again Ironically 2 days before Veteran's Day(A blessing in its self not having to work with a management made of cowardly and self serving assholes) . There are a lot things to be thankful for : I still have my health. I still can think for myself. I have new job with a good company, making decent money. I have my own place to live. Hello again my Peaches!! So after the flood, and maintenance putting in a new water heater, we had a HUGE mess to clean up. Then it was back to Thanksgiving cooking. Dinner got delayed by about three hours. Next up... BLACK FRIDAY SHOPPING!! Joy. John and I went out to the various stores, and are nearly done with our Christmas shopping list! Today was not a good day. But I am very thankful today because of what happened. There was a horrific shooting and 8 innocent people were killed. The shooter killed himself. He was just 19 years old. He left 3 notes. A will giving all his personal items to friends and family. A note saying he was going to go out in "STYLE". And a note saying he was finally going to be "FAMOUS". I am thankful that my friend and I decided to go to lunch an hour later. We were only about 2 miles from the mall. We had each individually thought of shopping at the mall after lunch. Her daughter called me after I got home in a panic to see if we made it for lunch. I had friends from out of town call to see if I was ok. And several local friends called also. It is so sad to be thankful for such a reason. I feel sad for his family and the guilt they will carry from now on. I feel sorry for the families of the victims. as most know, i luv my truck almost as much as my new bike... well today i went to my mommy's house, 2 hours away, and right before i got there, i hit a curve too fast... went in the ditch, got out, but then started fish-tailing... the whole time i wuz thinkin my truck is gonna flip... so not kewl... i had princess (my doggy) with me and i think i scared her half to death... sum how i managed to scrape the bed on the passenger side and break off one of my tie-downs... other than that, i hope nuthin else is wrong with her... anywayz, my neck hurts from it, so im gonna go find me sum drugz (legal ones)... hope everyone had a better thanksgiving then i did!

Even though I am in Iraq this thanksgiiving. I have so much to actually be thankful for. As of to date our unit has not actually lost anyone. I am thankful that each and everyone one of you can enjoy thanksgiving. Be glad that you are able to celebrate with family and friends. I have lived a messed up life for the last couple of years been married twice, 1st one lasted for about 1 1/2 years he got to damn jealous and I couldn't deal with that. Then my 2nd marriage the guy decided that is was ok to sleep with other women and lie to me about it when I found out about it, which really pissed me off cause I can't stand to be lied to. But you know what is funny now he told me he's "IN LOVE" with another woman but doesn't want to hurt me. WTF kind of shit is that. I wish he would just sign the divorce papers and get the shit over with. I am over all the dramma, all I want is to be happy with my life and the people in it. I want a good man who knows how to treat his woman. I am Country and I am Sassy and I will tell you what I think.

When you wanna complain you have to work 2 hours of over time this week or you are to tired cuz ya didn't get enough sleep.STOP!! Think of the military that we have in Iraq and other places going days without sleep and not knowing when they will see their homes again!! To the military guys and gals !! Thank Your for letting me sleep safely in my warm bed every night !! It's a honor, not a privilage !!

Thanksgiving
The Pregnant Turkey One year at Thanksgiving, my mom went to my sister's house for the traditional feast. Knowing how gullible my sister is, my mom decided to play a trick. She told my sister that she needed something from the store. When my sister left, my mom took the turkey out of the oven, removed the stuffing, stuffed a Cornish hen and inserted it into the turkey. She then stuffed the turkey again. She put the bird(s) back in the oven to cook. When it was time for dinner, my sister pulled the turkey out of the oven and proceeded to remove the stuffing. When her serving spoon hit something, she reached in and pulled out the little bird. With a look of total shock on her face, my mother exclaimed, "Patricia, you've cooked a pregnant bird!" At the reality of this horrifying news, my sister started to cry. It took the family two hours to convince her that turkeys lay eggs! Ode To A Turkey... Why must we be alone when others are around .. The hole in my heart getting bigger by the day..they say the holidays are the worst..they are so very right..my sons are gone I am alone..I put around in my house alone..wishing for friends..knowing there are none...wanting a family...knowing I had one...hope is lost...nights are long...pretty soon...with luck I will be gone.... My heart feels so heavy..for you out there who knows me not...My grandfather died in Nov...my cat of 17 and a half years..Nov...my husband of ten and a half years...left me for a 23yr old whore...now it looks like this year..Nov...I will be foreclosing on the only house I have ever truly called home... Thankful For These Men & Women!!!
You stay up for 16 hours.He stays up for days on end.You take a warm shower to help you wake up.He goes days or weeks without running water.You complain of a "headache", and call in sick.He gets shot at as others are hit, and keeps moving forward.You put on your anti war/don't support the troops shirt, and go meet up with your friends.He still fights for your right to wear that shirt.You talk trash about your "buddies" that aren't with you.He knows he may not see some of his buddies again.You walk down the beach, staring at all the pretty girls.He patrols the streets, searching for insurgents and terrorists.You complain about how hot it is.He wears his heavy gear, not daring to take off his helmet to wipe his brow.You go out to lunch, and complain because the restaurant got your order wrong.He doesn't get to eat today.Your maid makes your bed and washes your clothes. Thank All My New Found Friends
