Pan's Labrynth
Well, I have one thing to say...Beautiful. It was a spectaclular film. It is advertised as a "fairy tale", but it is so much more. It has something in it for everyone. It's full of action, drama, and mystery. The acting was superb. I was pulled in by the the film's dialog due to it's well done delivery. I didn't feel like I was watching a movie, I felt as though I was having a dream. That's how well done the film was created. I recomend this film to everyone. All tho, I must in good concious, let you all know, if you don't know this already, it is a forgien film. I highly recomend the subtitled version so you don't loose the magic of the wonderful acting. The effects, the story, the acting, the directing, the cinematography...all of it was wonderful. Please, take the time to check this film out...you won't regret it.

Ever since I was 12 I've been arounds babies. My sister had her first then. I spent alot of time taking care of her first 4 of 5 kids. I always had a special connection with them. Today, I went to a parent teacher conference about my oldest son. For some reason, I dont think the teachers like me to much. I personally think that homework for the sake of homework is prima facia evidence that teachers do not adequately schedule their time. You have them for 8 hours. This is probably the hardest blog I've ever written thus far, but with so many wonderful friends sending well wishes and the fact that I don't want to miss anyone who has sent them, I felt it needed to be done. As many of you know, my mother was taken on Monday, by ambulance, to the hospital. Her heart rate was over 300, her BP 275/180 and she couldn't breathe. After spending time with her both yesterday and today, and speaking with two of her doctors, I have some updated information. She was diagnosed with breast cancer about 12 years ago. After going through the required regimen of treatments and a radical mastectomy of one of her breasts, it went into remission for almost 7 years. Parkersburg Tornado
For those that live a ways away from me... over Memorial Day weekend...Sunday afternoon/evening to be exact, we had and EF5 tornado go through the town of Parkersburg. Parkersburg is about 40 minutes or so from where I live... My Parking Dilemma all started when I moved to my current location # years ago. My house is in one of the “cool” neighborhoods and my street at the time allowed for 2 hour parking. As you may have been able to tell, I am a part time father. All through the United States fathers are losing more rights to be with their children. I am one of the lucky ones, I am able to have joint legal and physical custody of my son. He stays with me every other week, but a lot of great dads only have visitation rights. As my profile states I live in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. We are currently experiencing an all time record flood. The Cedar River runs right the center of town and divides the East and West ends of town. Flood stage for the river is 18 feet. The highest flood on record was 20 feet in 1929, currently the river is at 20.23 feet and is predicted to crest at 24.5 feet. We are also waiting for thunderstorms tonight and all day tomorrow that are expected to bring an additional 1-3 inches of rain. Part Of Life?
I've been thinking a lot lately as my life seems to be moving so rapidly in recent months. With graduation around the corner, and the events of summer and early fall finally settling down I have had time for personal reflection. Parts of this year were joyful, then painful, and now returning to a balance of bittersweet memories and newfound happiness. It amazes me just how rapidly life actually changes, and the directions we moove versus where we think we are going. I see a storm approaching as I look out my living room patio window, and it reminds me of the volitility and unstableness of life. I dunno, but what I do know is there has to be a reason for the events in this world and in our lives to happen, it's not just random, it can't be. I'm so thankful for the expieriences I've had, and the people that I've known, loved and disliked...there's meaning in it all if one really thinks about it.

Participation/appreciation Interests
I was introduced to art appreciation in the 4th grade, where Mrs. Green was sponsoring Texas UIL competition in that area. I took 30 art pictures home and memorized them in one day according to my mother. I think her memory is bad on this point, but i definitely was entranced and enjoyed several of the pictures all classical. My artistic efforts in those years were pretty limited, mostly of ancient scooners and cars. My 1st choice of art styles is impressionistic and Van Gogh.
