The Rat Race
Once you work on something for some amount of time you usually want the outcome to be in your favor. Take me for instance. I've been in the army for 7 years, I'm good with ppl and don't really get into trouble.....I know my job, and I'm damn good at it. Yet all I seem to get is "You fucked up", or "You didn't do that right." I've been on three deployments. All I have gotten is a handshake. No awards saying that I have served my country, nothing, nothing at all. Shit I can't even get a fucking reach around, or have them use KY when they fuck me over. I'm sick and tired of striving in this life when all i get is.........nothing. Nothing to show for my hard work, and dedication to what i do and to what I love, and that is to the uniform i wear every day. The ppl that thank me everyday for serving my country is great, and I am greatful for it, but damnit sometimes you have to give credit where credit is due, and i'm on the deserving side of it.

In New York City, one week out of the year, a little messenger bag store does a beer for bags promotion. They tell you what beer to trade for a bag and then invite you back for a party to drink the beer people brought. My two friends and I, one of my roomies and my birthday bitch, (we have the same birthday but she's a few hours older than me) decided to participate this year. My BB price compared distributors. We found 2 that had good prices for the beer needed. They both got cases of hoegaarden and I got a case of Grolsch. Can you imagine the stares thrown at a white boy and 2 gurls luggin cases of brew thru Harlem? Hilarious. When we got downtown. We didn't feel so awkward as people smiled, knowin where we were goin. The shop was filled to the brim wit beer. Cases were stacked from floor to ceilin. After they take the beer, you get your bag and take a pic. The last few weeks have been hazy, to say the least. I seem to be coasting through the days and drifting back and forth between depression and anger. The problem with this is that my depression is speeding towards the self-mutilation phase while the anger is rapidly approaching extreme violence. It's like one minute I want to stab another person and the next moment I want to stab myself. I feel like I'm spinning in circles, unable to break the cycle and sometimes I'm trapped inside my own head; my own thoughts. I want to kick and scream and cry, but I can't manifest these actions because I've retreated into my shell and I can't, or won't, let myself out. Everything gets so bottled up that when I finally do blow off some steam it's usually at the wrong person and WAY out of proportion. Anybody who knows me knows that I love to laugh and kid around. I have been friends with alot of people over the years, but really close to only a few. If you check my friends list on here my second "family" member is Tranquil...I have only known her since the beginning of the year, but we have gotten really close. It's one of those friendships where you meet someone and by the end of the week, its as if you've known them forever and you can't remember a time in your life that they weren't there. Lately I keep seeing these commercials about this manufacturer or that auto maker has 5 or more cars that get better than 28 MPG. In these days of highway robbery gas prices, I'm sure this seems like a big deal. After all, we have to make every drop of the precious petrol count, right? Funny thing, though, I had a 1974 Plymouth Valiant with a 318 (V8) that had well over 150,000 miles on it, and I got around 28 MPG (highway) with it. A car from the days of "goes really fast and gets really shitty mileage" gets about the same miles per gallon and we should enthralled that auto manufacturers are doing the same thing now? I have vague childhood memories of my Mom having to wait in long lines with her Duster at the gas stations when we had very little oil. I woke up, not as motivated as the night before to start the diet, but thankfully I decided to start it. Breakfast was "oatmeal", consisting of 1 banana, 1/2 apple (peeled), 1 tsp of ground flax, 1 tsp. of ground cinnamon and 1/8 C. of almond milk. I blended it all together and consumed. It was DELICIOUS!!! Not that surprised, but I was surprised at how my appetite was satisfied. Snack was a carrot to munch. Lunch was Lettuce Wraps. I made a filling of sliced brocolli, cauliflower, onion, and carrots. I made a dressing of honey, fresh lemon juice, evoo, and salt and pepper. I mixed the dressing with the filling and then placed the flling in the lettuce leaf and rolled until it was covered and consumed. Again, very YUMMY and I'm not hungry after eating. YAY!!! Snack this afternoon will be some fruit. Dinner will be some spaghettie squash and... LOL... then I'm not sure yet.

she died of a heart attack 1/14/08 between 6:30 and 8:30 tx passed away this morning between 6:00 and 8:30 the cause of death is unknown I left Austin in 01 after having to file bankrupcy to try and save my grandmothers house after she died.I still couldn't afford to keep up the mortgage on it so i sold it quickly payed off the bankrupcy and we left Austin moved to the Killeen area where houses where cheaper to buy. Twenty-four hours ago, I had several problems that were worrying me to the point of dysfunction. It was another bad day in another bad week on a whole string of them. Then I got a phone call from a friend. I knew it was her from the caller ID, but she didn't get a discernible word out for several minutes. She didn't have to say anything - I knew what she was calling to tell me. My friend George, who I had talked to online nearly every day for the last ten years had passed away after a long battle with cancer. Now, none of those earlier problems meant anything at all.
