Sunday
This is the first time I have been online today. I have been quite the busy one with shopping today and visiting friends. Peter has been outside most of the day decorating the house and putting up lights....lots of lights! I have at least started my Christmas shopping now. I got the boys Ipods so far. Lots of stuff for their stockings too. It has been a chilly weekend. Finally starting to feel winter like around here. Mind you that it was 47 degrees today. My kids have been yelling at me to turn the heater up but my response to them is they can turn it up if they want to pay the electric/gas bill! I am buying a new car tomorrow. I have only had mine that I have now for about 21 months but I have never been that in love with the vehicle. I am getting something that is nicer. Going from Honda to Lincoln. So, I think it is safe to say I won Dantes Sexiest MILF contest. Everyone pulled together to help me bomb the crap out of my pic and it closes tonight and I am up about 8000 plus votes. SO YAY! Sunday I Will Finally Be Employed - Again!
I haven't done this since I joined the Army, many moons ago. Anyway, the Company bought me a bus ticket ( they're paying, what the hell? ) for Saturday morning from Marietta Ohio to Detroit, where I will meet my trainer on Sunday.They will put me up in the luxurious Super 8 Motel ( again, they're paying - I'll just take bug spray.)after bouncing around from bus terminal to bus terminal all day. I'm wondering if bus stations are like they always were, the doors sills afloat in wino piss, panhandlers looking for a fix, and pimps looking for new prey. Should be interesting. The one thing I wanted to know from the Training Coordinator was if the trainer had a head on his shoulders, and was assured he did. Can you imagine me sharing the cab of a truck for 6 weeks with a red neck know it all? So yea, about a month ago i broke up with the one guy that i had mistakenly thought was perfect. I loved him with all my heart, but I never was good enough for him. I dont hate him, but I have changed my mind about ever being with him again. It's not worth being ignored. I know he will never change. Update on Mary's condition. (8/26/12) Just got off of the phone with her and she is in wonderful spirits. She has recently passed a milestone in her recovery by walking 600 feet without the us of her cane. Next week she will be tested for new glasses as her sight is steadily improving. She is looking forward to attending her daughters wedding in October in a condition that would be as she was before her stroke. Her memory is improving and I would guess that her return to FU will be in the next few months. Your prayers and blessings are greatly appreciated. She is currently going through therapy to strengthen her right side and is progressing greatly. She is up and walking with the aide of a cane and is hopeful of a complete recovery. The Sun Is Shinin' But My World Is Dark...
I'm sure some of you will laugh at my tenderheartedness but if you know me, you know how I am. My oldest son Patrick moved out yesterday into his and Kathryn's brand new apartment. They are getting married next month and I couldn't be happier but I miss my baby soooooooo much. I know, I know...I am very happy for him and so proud, but my motherly selfishness is having a hard time letting go. I am confident that he has grown into a mature wonderful young man and will make a great husband for Kathryn no doubt. I like to feel I raised him right but still....this is the hardest thing I have ever dealt with in my life. I knew I would suffer from the empty nest syndrome massively...Grrr!!! =) I thank God I still have one son at home. That is one thing that helps me deal with this. INGREDIENTS 1 (18.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix 1 (3.4 ounce) package instant butterscotch pudding mix 4 eggs 1/4 cup water 1/4 cup vegetable oil 1 cup canned pumpkin 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice Whipped cream DIRECTIONS In a large mixing bowl, combine the first seven ingredients. Beat on low speed for 30 seconds; beat on medium for 4 minutes. Pour into a greased and floured 10-in. fluted tube pan. So, my mate has brought her cat to the condo. I allowed it, my mistake. The cat is female, spayed, but none the less, a pest. It sits on the edge of the tub and watches me take a shower! Second month coming to an end and I still don't like getting up at 4:30am. I am happy I have a job. It for things like this. Take care everyone. After talking to many of the attendees of Archon 31/Tuckercon this past August, I had tentatively decided to go this year this year. http://www.archonstl.org/32/index.html I shot over 500 photos there. One of my big reasons for going to cons are the costumes. Friends and guests are two other reasons I go. I was assured that this coming year would be bigger. The one in August was also the NASFIC and the memberships where quite a bit more than normal. So some of the locals apparently did not show due to the cost. That plan has gone out the window now. I have been invited to be Fan Guest of Honor at Fencon. http://www.fencon.org/ They just happen to be the same weekend due to a conflict with the hotel. Something I have to share. Today as I was doing my volunteer work at Castle Hospital as I walked down the hall. This guy stopped me mid-way, and asked me if he could ask me a question? I told him sure as I proceeded to keep walking. He asked me about 3rd floor. Well the thrid floor is where they keep the people that are high risk. Meaning they would kill them selves. Anyway? something about this guy? just the way he smiled and was very polite in asking. I just couldn't keep my eyes off of his smile? strange....but I tried to give him as much information that I could, and he was on his way. As the day went on, we crossed paths again and with that same smile, said to me that his determination got the informationt that he needed. And that smile just took my breath away..... I was glad that he got what he needed, just by that smile it made my day. So the next time your out in public and you come across people? you never know when just a smile will make their day...... I have a new reason to stick around I suppose. Every once in a while people come across someone that catches their eye. Last week I was in Atlanta, Georgia attending a conference. While I was in the airport, returning home, I heard several people behind me beginning to clap and cheer. I immediately turned around and witnessed one of the greatest act's of patriotism I have ever seen. Moving through the terminal was a group of soldiers in their camo's. As as they began heading to their gate everyone (well almost everyone) was abruptly to their feet with their hands waving and cheering. I've been in the US Army for over 4 years now, in the last year I have been away from my family, I have seen my daughter a total of 3 weeks and I haven't held my wife at night in almost a year. People hate us, say " we shouldn't be over here in Afghanistan and Iraq. Do not hate the troops for protecting your freedom, instead go and complain to your congressman and the president of the US. Tell them the things and the reasons that you don't believe we should be in the middle east and use your freedom of speech on someone that can actually do something about it, instead of hating on the meer people that make it possible for you to do the things that you do in your everyday life.

Of the 6 years I was in, half of them were spent in airports, bus stations, barracks or hanger bays, and one in boot camp. They can be very lonely, so if you have someone special who is not home this holiday, serving their country, send them something, anything. I have noticied that here lately that there is alot of peolpe out there who don't support us. I am a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army. I have been in for almost 10 years now. The military is my job and I love what I do. For the most part a large majority in the military love what they do. It is a job that I chose just like everyone else chose where they wanted to work. I do not understand this, why do people in the country not support the troops. There have even been some that have given the ultimate sacrifice. We do our job so that the people of the United States can enjoy the freedom's and liberty's still today. It is somer of these people that don't support us but sure do love the fact that they live in a free country. It all comes down to this, if you cant support the people who give you this right then pack your stuff and leave the United States. We may be dealing with "other" people now, but the events that happened on December 7th, 1941 were still devastating.
